Starting therapy can feel daunting, so I offer a free 15-minute phone call to help ease you in. This is a chance for us to chat about what's brought you to counselling and how I might be able to help. It's also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and see if you feel comfortable with me. There's no obligation to book further sessions after this call.

Integrative Counselling
I practice 'integrative counselling'. But what does that mean for you? Simply put, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from different therapeutic techniques to create an approach that's tailored just for you.
Think of it like having a toolbox with lots of different tools. Depending on what you're going through and what works best for you, we'll use the tools that fit your unique situation. This might include talking things through, exploring your past experiences, learning new coping strategies, or even using creative methods like art or play.
The goal is to help you understand yourself better, work through your challenges, and develop the skills you need to thrive.
As a parent, you may have noticed changes in your child/young person’s behaviour, mood, or school performance. Perhaps they've become withdrawn, irritable, or anxious. These changes often signal that your child or young person is facing challenges they struggle to express or manage.
Today's young people, whether neurotypical or neurodivergent, face numerous pressures. From academic stress to complex social relationships and the widespread influence of social media, the path through adolescence can be challenging for all.
Many young people grapple with anxiety, low self-esteem, or uncertainty about their place in the world. Family changes, bullying, and the challenges of puberty can significantly impact any child or young person’s well-being. For neurodivergent young people, these universal experiences may present additional complexities.
Every young person’s journey is unique, and all young people can benefit from understanding and support. With the right guidance, children and young people can learn to navigate their challenges and flourish.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space for your child to explore these issues. Through various methods including talking, play, and creative activities, I help young people express their feelings, understand their experiences, and develop coping strategies. My aim is to support your child in building resilience, improving self-esteem, and developing the emotional tools they need to thrive.
Remember, seeking help for your child is a sign of strength and care, an investment in their emotional well-being and future happiness.
‘Having sessions with Angela really helped me with my mental health at the time. She was always very thoughtful and supportive during therapy, and helped me find out what worked for me and my mental health at therapy. I am so lucky and grateful that I had her as my first therapist, and I really appreciate how she helped me.’
How It Works
This can be just with your child or you can be present if you prefer.
We'll talk about what your child or young person wants to get out of counselling.
We might talk, play games, or use art - whatever helps your child express themself.
We'll regularly check in to see how your child is progressing.
I'll work around school terms, usually in 6-7 week blocks.
Sessions are a private confidential space for your child to discuss their worries and emotions.
Relationships are fundamental to our lives, offering love and support. However, even strong partnerships can face challenges that lead to disconnection and frustration.
You might be struggling with communication issues, trust problems, or loss of intimacy. Perhaps you're navigating major life transitions or finding yourself stuck in unresolved conflicts. External stressors like financial pressures or family issues can also strain your relationship.
A healthy relationship is crucial for your well-being and those around you. It provides a stable foundation for family life, supports personal growth, and contributes to better overall health.
Couples counselling offers a safe space to explore these issues together. As your counsellor, I'll help you improve communication, enhance understanding, and rediscover your connection. We'll develop practical strategies to handle conflicts and rebuild intimacy and trust.
Remember, seeking help is a courageous step towards creating the relationship you desire. Whether you're feeling stuck or simply want to strengthen your bond, couples counselling can help you build a more resilient, satisfying partnership.
